NOUAILLES
medieval estate
Toulouse in France
THE GROUNDS
THE GROUNDS
With over 150 acres of forest, rivers and a lake, the estate grounds are a wonderful part of the experience of Nouailles.
Over the last 25 years we have planted orchards, a Mediterranean garden and a rose garden.
Day and night, rain or shine, there is always something to excite the senses. With wonderful walks, around and beyond the estate you can explore the local area, which link up to official paths, taking in the diverse countryside, villages and towns. The fauna and flora change throughout the seasons and we have spotted many species of birds, butterflies and glimpsed wild boar, wild deer, red squirrels, pine martins and genets. At night the quiteness is interupted by the hoot of an owl.
Around the immediate estate there are a myriad of places to sit and relax, whether it be on one of the terraces, in the orchard, on the jetty overlooking the small lake, or next to the pool, you will be spoilt for choice.

THE UNRESTORED MILL
This is our current project at the estate.
The mill dates back to the 11th century and was in use in living memory.
